In September 2007, Banner Gateway Medical Center, located in Gilbert, Arizona, opened its doors with 176 private rooms, nine operating suites and a 37-bed Emergency department. The 60-acre campus was built with room to triple in size by adding two patient towers and coordinating support services. Banner Gateway is the future home of the recently announced M. D. Anderson Banner Cancer Center, scheduled to open in late 2011. This partnership between Banner Health and the University of Texas M. D.
